Artis Senior Living to Celebrate Grand Opening of First Community in Pennsylvania
MCLEAN, Va. – November 8, 2016 – Artis Senior Living’s will celebrate the grand opening of its first memory care community in Pennsylvania– Artis Senior Living of Huntingdon Valley – at 2085 Lieberman Drive on Thursday, November 17, from 3-6 p.m. Artis President and CEO, Don Feltman, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside Robert P. DeMartinis, President of the Board of Commissioners and Christopher R. Hoffman, Township Manager for Lower Moreland and also the Eastern Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce at 4 p.m.
“We are excited for the grand opening of our first memory care residence in Pennsylvania and are humbled by the warm welcome we’ve received from the Huntingdon Valley neighborhood and surrounding area. We feel privileged to be setting a new bar in quality care for seniors affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia,” said Feltman.
The new 72-suite residence will be the first freestanding memory care community in Lower Moreland Township. The community is comprised of four neighborhoods – Penn House, Pennypack Creek, Fetter’s Mill, and Huntingdon Station – that create an intimate environment with familiar living spaces. These neighborhoods connect to a central core, known as the Town Center, with additional amenities including a studio for community gatherings, a studio for activities, a health center and a beauty salon/barber shop.
Executive Director Sherry Nikisher noted, “This is going to be an evening to remember for our Artis team, colleagues, friends, associates, future residents and family members. We look forward to providing the families of Lower Moreland with the best in memory care for many years to come.”
Influenced and refined by 20 years of operational experience, the new residence is thoughtfully designed to enhance residents’ cognition and quality of life by creating a home environment that is both nurturing and comfortable. The design features include smaller-scale spaces, residential finishes, and the use of themes for queuing and location recognition.
The project was designed by LK Architecture of Wichita, Kan. and was constructed by E. Allen Reeves, Inc. of Abington, Pa. The new community will mark Artis’ sixth residence in operation.
