Artis Senior Living Breaks Ground on Second Memory Care Community in Florida
MCLEAN, Va. – March 29 – Artis Senior Living, LLC recently broke ground on a 72-bed memory care community in Davie, Fla. For seniors affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Artis Senior Living of Davie will be a single-story, 35,000 square foot community that will front Flamingo Road (State Road 823) and is easily accessible from Florida’s Turnpike, I-595, and I-75. The site is just 11 miles southwest of Ft. Lauderdale in the western part of Broward County. The community includes a central core, known as the “Town Center” flanked by four distinct “neighborhoods” that serve as intimate living spaces. The Town Center features a host of amenities, including a neighborhood center for community gatherings, a studio for activities, a health center, and a beauty salon and barbershop.
Influenced and refined by 20+ years of operational experience, the new residence is thoughtfully designed to enhance residents’ cognition and quality of life by creating a home environment that is both nurturing and comfortable. The design features include smaller-scale spaces, residential finishes, and the use of themes for wayfinding and location recognition.
Artis currently has a community in Boca Raton, and also has communities in development or operation in Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Ohio. The company is anticipating a grand opening for Artis Senior Living of Davie in the first quarter of 2018.
The project was designed by LK Architecture of Wichita, Kan. and will be constructed by HGC Construction of Cincinnati, Ohio.
